Williamsburg Bridge Back Open After Man On Cables In Custody: Mayor
Brooklyn's J and M lines were closed heading to and from Manhattan Friday morning, authorities said.

Update: The bridge reopened in both directions about 10 a.m. after police took someone into custody, Mayor Eric Adams tweeted.
BROOKLYN, NY — The Williamsburg bridge was completely closed Friday morning while police tried to get a man off the bridge's cables, officials said.
It was not clear if the man was trying to jump, according to the NYPD.

The closure, reported just before 9 a.m., also shut the J line between Essex Street and Myrtle Avenue and the M line between 57th Street and Myrtle Avenue, according to the MTA.
J trains would still run between Broad Street and Delancey Street-Essex Street and Myrtle Avenue and Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer, officials said.
