Woman Robbed, Punched In The Back Of The Head On BK Street: Police

The incident happened on May 9 in the vicinity of 28th Street and 4th Avenue, police said.

BROOKLYN, NY — A 34-year-old woman was robbed and punched in the back of the head as she walked on a Brooklyn Street last week, police said.

On May 9, at about 6:35 p.m., the woman was walking in the vicinity of 28th Street and 4th Avenue, when an unknown man ran behind her, punched her in the back of her head and then threw her to the ground by grabbing her jacket, police said.

The unknown man grabbed the woman's bag and fled east on 28th Street, police said.

The woman chased after the man and caught up with him, where a struggle over the bag ensued, police said.

The man dropped the bag and fled north on 4th Avenue, police said.

The 34-year-old woman walked into the 72 Precinct, requested medical assistance, and was transported by EMS to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn in stable condition.

The wanted individual was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, eyeglasses and a face mask.
