Blasphemous Burglar Nabs Brooklyn Church Collection Box: Cops

Police are looking for the man who robbed Saint Sylvester Church on McKinley Avenue.

CYPRESS HILLS, BROOKLYN — A blasphemous burglar crept into a Brooklyn church and stole its collection box, according to police.

The thief climbed through an open window of Saint Sylvester Church on McKinley and Grant avenues about 8:30 p.m. Friday, police said.

He grabbed the collection box — stuffed with an unknown amount of cash — and ran away, according to police.

Police released a photo Sunday of the suspect wearing a black New York Yankees baseball hat, gold chain, black t-shirt and green shorts.
