Brooklyn Dog Shot Dead for Biting NYPD Officer, Police Say
The dog allegedly bit the officer on the arm Tuesday evening in East New York.

EAST NEW YORK, BROOKLYN — A police officer with the New York City Police Department (NYPD) shot and killed a neighborhood dog around 6 p.m. Tuesday evening after the dog bit him on the arm, according to a department spokesman.
The officer was bitten at 350 Montauk St., between Blake and Dumont avenues, and was transported to a nearby hospital, the spokesman said.

The NYPD could not immediately provide details on the events leading up to the biting and shooting.
