Brownsville Shooting Leaves Man in Critical Condition: NYPD

A 31-year-old man was shot multiple times on June 3 at the Marcus Garvey Housing Development, according to the NYPD.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — Police are looking for two men (pictured above) who allegedly shot a 31-year-old man at the Marcus Garvey Housing Development on June 3.

At about 1:10 p.m. on that day, the man was standing in front of 1400 East New York Ave. in Brownsville when he was approached by the suspects, according to the NYPD.

The suspects shot the man twice in the abdomen and three times in the left thigh before fleeing, police said.

The wounded victim was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was still listed in critical condition as of June 7.

This alleged crime took place in the NYPD's 73rd Precinct. According to official police statistics, through May 29, major crimes in the 73rd were down about 2.4 percent compared to the same time period last year.

A total of 11 shootings with 12 victims were recorded through May 29, compared to 18 shootings with 19 victims during the same period in 2015.
