Brooklyn Muggers Make Off With Cash, Cards -- and a Taxi Cab

Three victims were targeted early Monday morning near East New York while sitting in the cab, according to the NYPD.

CYPRESS HILLS, BROOKLYN — Police are looking for two men (one of whom is pictured above) accused of robbing two men and a woman, all in their 20s, at gunpoint early Monday morning.

The victims were sitting in a taxicab, which one of them operates, at 3014 Fulton St. near East New York when they were approached by the suspects around 5 a.m., police said.

The suspects pulled out guns, ordered the victims to leave the car and stole $300 from them, police said.

They also allegedly made off with a cellphone and a few debit and credit cards — and the taxi cab.

One suspect fled on foot, police said, while the second drove the cab east on Fulton Street before ditching it at 80 Schenectady Ave.

Detectives say the first suspect (pictured above) was last seen wearing a red sweater with a hood, a black mask and black gloves.

The second suspect is described as a black man between 22 and 25 years old with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater with gold trim, police said.

The crime described above allegedly took place in the NYPD's 75th Precinct.

According to official police statistics, through April 3, major crimes in the 75th were collectively up about 2 percent compared to the same time period last year.

Robberies were down nearly 4 percent (161 incidents this year, compared to 167 last year), while grand larceny, a crime that can involve stealing debit or credit cards, was up about 8 percent (293 incidents compared to 271).
