Biohazard Found In Dead Man's Brooklyn Apartment, NYPD Says
The 75-year-old found dead in a Cypress Hills apartment was surrounded by canisters labeled as biohazard, according to police and a report.
CYPRESS HILLS, NY — A 75-year-old man was found dead in a Brooklyn apartment filled with biohazard, according to police.
Police conducting a wellness check found the unconscious man sitting in a chair inside his home on 101 Avenue and Drew Street Wednesday about 1 p.m., the NYPD said.
Medics pronounced the elderly man — who the New York Post reported may have dead for about a week — deceased, police said.

The NYPD confirmed there was a potential biohazard, which police sources told the Post consisted of canisters with biohazard labels and weapons of mass destruction diagrams.
A medical examiner will determine the exact cause of the 75-year-old’s death, said the NYPD.

The man’s identity will not be made public until his family has been notified of his death, according to police.
The Department of Environmental Protection is investigating, according to police, but was not available to respond to requests about the contents of the canisters at the time of this publication.
