Brooklyn Man Arrested for Exposing Himself to 11-Year-Old: NYPD

EAST NEW YORK, BROOKLYN — Police have arrested a local man (pictured above) who allegedly exposed himself to an 11-year-old girl walking to school early Tuesday morning in East New York.

East New York resident Akijah Hall, 20, was taken into custody Tuesday evening, according to police records.

Hall has been charged with attempted sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a child, public lewdness and harassment, police said.

As of Thursday morning, the suspect was being held on $2,500 cash bail. His first court appearance hadn't been scheduled yet.

According to the NYPD, Hall approached his young victim near the intersection of Elton Street and Pitkin Avenue.

The suspect grabbed the girl's arm while "exposing his private parts," police said. The girl screamed, and Hall allegedly fled on foot down Pitkin Avenue.

The 11-year-old was not injured during the incident, according to the NYPD.

This alleged crime occurred in the NYPD's 75th Precinct. According to official police statistics, through April 3, major crimes were up about 1 percent compared to the same time period last year.
