Jinx Paul, Radio DJ, Killed in Hit-And-Run in East New York
The radio personality on La Mega 97.9 FM was struck Monday morning.
BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — Jean Paul Guerrero, a popular DJ for the La Mega 97.9 FM radio station, was killed in a hit-and-run in East New York in the early hours of Monday morning, the NYPD said.
A black sedan struck the 39-year-old Guerrero at Jamaica and Sheffield avenues at a little after 4 a.m. and drove off before cops got to the scene, police said. The NYPD arrived to find Guerrero unconscious and unresponsive with severe trauma to his body. Emergency responders transported him to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Guerrero, whose DJ name was Jinx Paul, lived in Harlem on Amsterdam Avenue.

"Jinx Paul was a true warrior of the radio, starting as a DJ WITH ONLY 9 years of age. It was a great fortune to meet you, my dear friend, and today we wish you luck on your journey, waiting to meet with you again in the celestial path," La Mega wrote in a Facebook post.
The NYPD is still investigating, and no arrests have been made.
