Man Shot Dead In Brownsville Barbershop Blocks From His Home: Cops

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — Two men were shot, one fatally, in a Brownsville barbershop over the weekend, according to police.

Forty five-year-old Peter McCourty and a 28-year-old man were inside the Champion Cuts Barbershop on Chester Street around 9:30 p.m. Friday when a shooter came up and open fired through a window, police said.

McCourty was hit in the torso and later died at the hospital, police said. The 28-year-old man was shot in the left leg and is at the hospital in stable condition, according to police.

McCourty lived just a few blocks from the barbershop on Linden Boulevard, records show.

There were no arrests in the shooting as of Monday morning.
