Man Shot Dead Near Highland Park Playground, Police Say

CYPRESS HILLS, BROOKLYN — A man was shot to death near a Cypress Hills playground Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The man was gunned down on the corner of Jamaica Avenue and Elton Street near the Lower Highland Playground just before 5:25 p.m., according to police.

Emergency responders rushed the unidentified man, who was shot in the torso, to Brookdale Hospital where he later died, police said.

Police had made no arrests as of Thursday morning.
