Man Who Sexually Assaulted Woman On Brownsville Street Caught: Cops
Miguel James, 42, was arrested late Wednesday, just a few days after he attacked a woman on St. Marks Avenue, police said.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — A man who followed, robbed and sexually assaulted a woman on the streets of Brownsville last weekend has been caught, according to police.
Miguel James, 42, was arrested late Wednesday, just days after police say he attacked a 54-year-old woman as she walked home on St. Marks Avenue around 2 a.m. Friday.
James, driving a dark-colored SUV, first came up to the woman near East New York Avenue and offered her a ride, police said.

After she refused, James got out of the car and hit the woman in the abdomen, snatching her purse and cell phone, police said.
James then got back in his SUV and followed the woman as she continued walking, jumping out again near Howard Avenue, police said.

He sexually assaulted the woman near that intersection and fled, according to police.
The woman went to Brookdale Hospital the next day.
James is charged with robbery, assault, sexual abuse, forcible touching and a criminal sex act for the attack, according to police.
