Free Livonia-Junius Subway Transfer Coming to East New York, MTA Confirms

Free transfers won't begin until 2019, though, according to reports.

EAST NEW YORK, BROOKLYN — A free out-of-station transfer is planned for riders switching between the Livonia Avenue station along the L line and the Junius Street station along the 3 line, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA).

The topic was brought up at Thursday night's community meeting in Canarsie on planned repairs for the L Train.

A free connection between the L and 3 Trains in East New York was approved a while ago by the MTA, according to Gothamist, but reportedly won't be put into practice until 2019.
