No arrests had been made as of Friday, and an investigation into the shooting was still ongoing, police said.

However, an NYPD spokesman said that a suspect had been identified, describing him as a 17-year-old black male who was last seen wearing a white t-shirt.

The spokesman said that an initial investigation suggested that prior to the shooting, the first victim had broken up a fight between the second victim and a third individual, but it was unclear if the third person was the shooter.

Police recovered six 9mm shell casings and three bullet fragments from the crime scene, the spokesman said.
