VIDEO: Man Lights Groceries On Fire 4 Times In Brownsville Store
Police are looking for the suspect who set fire in a Food Bazaar in Brownsville and escaped on a bus, the NYPD said.
BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — A man walked into a Brownsville Food Bazaar on Monday evening wearing a black ski cap and set four separate fires in the store, cops said. The incident occurred on Jan. 30 at around 6:15 p.m. on 417 Junius St. After setting groceries on fire, the man left the store and got on a westbound B14 bus, cops said.
Store customers and security staff used bottle water and a hose to put out the fires before the FDNY got there. The FDNY then extinguished the fire, police said. There were no injuries.
The suspect is described by cops as black, 5-foot-3-inches tall and 115 pounds. He was wearing a black parka with a fur-trimmed hood in addition to the black ski cap, police said. In the surveillance video, the man appears to be pretty young, maybe even a teenager.
