Bushwick Subway Stabber Charged With Assault: Cops

A man who allegedly stabbed a teen in the torso with a sharp object on the J train last week was taken into custody Tuesday, police said.

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — A man who cops say stabbed a 19-year-old man on the subway after a dispute turned violent on Saturday was arrested and charged with assault on Tuesday, police said. Bushwick man Alton Chesney, 46, was arrested in connection with the stabbing of the teen in the lower torso with a sharp object, according to the NYPD. The incident occurred on Saturday, Jan. 21 at around 3 p.m. as the J train approached Chauncey Street. The victim, whose name wasn't immediately revealed, went on his own to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced to be in stable condition, police said. Cops released surveillance video on Monday that was captured by an eyewitness.
