Cyclist Dies From His Injuries In Bushwick Hit-And-Run, Police Say
A 32-year-old cyclist who was injured in a hit-and-run collision in Bushwick has died from his injuries, police said,

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — The cyclist who was slammed into by a hit-and-run driver on Friday morning has died from his injuries, according to police.
Police said Ronald James Burke died on Friday. He was injured early Friday morning when a driver collided into him in Bushwick, near the intersection of Central Avenue and Linden Street, the NYPD said in a statement. Authorities said they responded to a 911 call reporting the collision at about 3:28 a.m. on Friday, where they found Burke on the ground with trauma to his head and body. He was transported to a hospital where he died later in the day.
The driver, who was driving in a 2005 Acura, stayed on scene until emergency responders arrived, after which he fled the area without a filing a police report, police said in a statement. According to the NYPD's initial investigation, Burke was traveling east on Linden Street when the driver, who was traveling south on Central Avenue, struck him in the intersection. Police said the driver had a green light as he was driving through the intersection.

Police identified Burke as a resident of Lexington, South Carolina. He was 32 years old. No arrests have been made in his death and police continue to investigate.
