J Train Alleged Stabber Held On $7,000 Bail: Brooklyn District Attorney's Office
46-year-old Alton Chesney was charged with stabbing a teenager on the J train after a dispute turned violent, cops said.
BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — A man who cops say stabbed a 19-year-old man on the subway after a dispute turned violent last week was held on $7,000 bail and scheduled to show up in court next Tuesday, Jan. 31, according to public court documents. Bushwick man Alton Chesney, 46, was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the stabbing of Michael Perez in the upper left torso with a sharp object, according to the criminal complaint from the Brooklyn District Attorney's office.
The incident occurred on Saturday, Jan. 21 at around 3 p.m. as the J train approached Chauncey Street, police said. Perez went on his own to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced to be in stable condition, the NYPD said.
