Former Glasslands Owners Opening New Music Venue in Bushwick
Set to open this fall, "Elsewhere" will operate out of a 24,000 square foot converted warehouse.

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — Indie music fans will have a new venue to check out this fall when Elsewhere opens at 599 Johnson Ave. in Bushwick.
The business is the work of Rami Haykal, Jake Rosenthal and Dhruv Chopra. Haykal and Rosenthal were the founders of the former Williamsburg venue Glasslands Gallery, while Chopra served as an adviser.

Frankie Cosmos, Grimes and FKA Twigs are just a few of the acts that received early attention after playing shows at Glasslands.
Glasslands, along with music venue Death by Audio, were both displaced from their Williamsburg locations when Vice Media expanded in the neighborhood in early 2015.

News of the new business broke this week on Instagram.
An announcement on Elsewhere's website promises an "ethos of creative risk-taking, progressive music programming, respect for all people & art, and a desire to support and grow the community that makes it possible."
Investors are converting the venue's future home, a former Bushwick warehouse, at a cost of $3 million, Curbed reports.
