Brucie's Taco Lasagna

I dined at what is fast becoming my favorite neighborhood restaurant -- -- on a recent evening.

All three dishes my companion and I devoured, and I mean devoured, were practically perfect. But the sheer wackiness of the night's special, Taco Lasagna, demands, nay requires, deep analysis.

First off -- who ever heard of Taco Lasagna?? No matter, if a chef is inventive and has a quirk for interesting pairings, anything can happen.

Our waitress could hardly believe the dish. When she told us all the ingredients, she was practically gasping herself. And of course she was! Mole chicken, jalapenos, avocado, cheese, scallions, sour cream and fried crisps on top?!

The dish came and it was just what we expected it to be: over the top! But the line was never crossed. With each bite, you just wanted to take another one.
