Bucatini from Bino

Delicious and subtle Italian food

Earlier this week, I dined at on Smith Street, taking advantage of the great deal that is . For $25, three-courses!

I'd been eager to try Bino for some time, and my experience was lovely. The restaurant is clean and neat in appearance, and the same goes for the food.

I'm not talking simplicity here, but rather, subtlety.

A farro salad with a light touch of basil and accented by snappy pea shoot greens was delicious. But my entree, bucatini with tomato, red chilis, asiago and prosciutto, was like heaven in a bowl.

Bucatini (think thick spagetti with a hole in the middle) with little more than olive oil would be dream-like enough, but add some spice, light italian meat and a little cheese, and you've got something special.

And as co-owner Sarah Casteel noted, the smell of the dish hits you first. You can't believe the food could taste as good as it smells. But it does!
