Carroll Gardens Bank Thieves Linked To 4 Other Robberies: NYPD
The suspects robbed five banks in Carroll Gardens, Park Slope, Williamsburg and Brooklyn Heights from Jan. 2 to Monday, police said.
CARROLL GARDENS, NY — A pair of thieves who robbed a Smith Street bank last month was linked to four other heists around Brooklyn, the NYPD said.
The man and the woman robbed five banks around the borough starting on Jan. 2, most recently stealing cash from a Park Slope Investors Bank on Monday, police said.
They first struck on Jan. 2 when the male suspect handed a teller at the Ponce De Leon Bank, 169 Smith St., a note demanding cash at about 10:50 a.m., authorities said. The man got $1,500 in cash then fled in an unknown direction with the woman.

The pair hit again on Jan. 9 when they got an undetermined amount of money from the Dime Bank at 814 Manhattan Ave. in Williamsburg, police said. On Jan. 17, the suspects got cash from a Chase Bank at 20 Flatbush Ave. in Brooklyn Heights.
The thieves robbed a second Carroll Gardens bank on Jan. 31 when they stole an unknown amount of money from the Capital One Bank at 420 Court St., police said.

The last incident was on Monday when the man walked into the Investors Bank at 314 Seventh Ave. at about 10:45 a.m., authorities said. He handed the teller a note and stole an undetermined amount of cash before he fled in an unknown direction with the woman.
Police described the man as 5-feet 7-inches tall, between 30 and 40-years-old, last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket, gray hooded sweatshirt and a striped knit cap.
The woman is in her 30s and was last seen wearing a headscarf and dark puffy jacket, police said.
