Cheer for the JETS in the Neighborhood

Local watering holes and specials

The Jets v. Steelers game tomorrow is sure to be exciting -- if the Jets win they head to the Super Bowl for the first time since Super Bowl III in 1969. Watch the game in one of our local bars! They're all first come, first served, so get there early. Luckily, many drink and food specials are being offered.

Head to Angry Wade’s for the game. On game days the bar serves homemade brats, and hot dogs and chicken from s in addition to their normal menu. Wade's opens at noon and til 3 p.m. well drinks and drafts are $1 off.

Tucked away on Third Avenue, Canal Bar is easily one of South Brooklyn’s best spots to catch the game. Though the bar bills itself as a Cubs bar, there are always plenty of Jets fans, too, and the crowd is rowdy. This weekend the bar will serve up basic as opposed to "Chicago style" hot dogs (and even some veggie dogs, we hear) and $10 buckets of beer. Bloody Mary's in a pint glass are just $5.

British soccer games are shown at Floyd every weekend but on Sunday the Jets game will be screened too. Floyd is known for its cheap and diverse beers, and they open around 11 a.m.

Cody's is one of the neighborhood's classic sports bars. No fuss, no specials, just a good old fashioned bar with lots of TV's. Cody's opens at noon.

Downtown is another classic sports bar, but with some classier touches-- mussels, anyone? Get there early. Downtown opens at noon.

The Brazen Head on Atlantic Avenue is not your typical sports bar -- it's a dive with TVs. The Head opens at noon and features a great perk on Sunday's: bloodies and bagels. 'Nuff said.

PJ's is called the oldest bar in Brooklyn by the management and the location has been a pub since 1874. Opening at 11:30 a.m., PJ's will have beer bucket and pitcher specials.
