Community Board Manager Remains In Post After Stalking Allegations
Hammerman, who allegedly used his ex-girlfriend's Uber account to follow her to a hotel, will attend CB6's general board meeting Wednesday.

COBBLE HILL, BROOKLYN — Craig Hammerman, district manager for Community Board 6 for more than 20 years, is still in that position following two arrests and charges that he stalked and harassed his ex-girlfriend.
Hammerman was at the office of Community Board 6 — which governs central Brooklyn from Red Hook through Park Slope — when Patch called on Monday, and his attorney said he will be at the board's general meeting Wednesday night.
Hammerman's name is still on the Community Board 6 website, and his picture is on its Facebook page.

"I don’t see any reason for him to step back," Joyce Davis, his attorney, told Patch. "As far as I know, there is no move afoot to have him relieved in any way that I’m aware of."
Patch has reached out to CB6 Chair Sayar Lonial and Vice Chair Mike Racioppo for more information about Hammerman's status with the board, and we'll let you know if we hear back.

Hammerman used his ex-girlfriend's Uber account to follow her to a Bed-Stuy hotel in late March, then made phone calls to the front desk using fake identities to try to speak to her, according to complaints from the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office.
On Friday, he violated a restraining order when he sat down next to her at a Park Slope bar and told her he was following her for her "safety," according to the complaints.
Hammerman was arrested after both incidents. Davis, his attorney, has said the claims are "absolutely not true."
Davis, the attorney, said Hammerman will preside over Wednesday's community board meeting as usual. She has instructed him, though, to refer all questions, either from press or attendees, to her.
"He’s presumed to be innocent," Davis said. "He’s done great work for all the time he’s been there."
The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cobble Hill Health Center at 380 Henry St., between Congress and Warren streets.
