Cops of the Month

Captain Jack Lewis announces the cops of the month

On December 10, two cops from the on Union Street were stationed in the 63 Precinct in Flatlands where a recent brash of crime had been taking place.

Around 9 p.m., Officers Carl Bredy and Richard Taveras went inside a Capital One bank on Ralph Avenue and Avenue K. A woman whispered to them, "The bank is being held up." The officers saw a man in a mask and with a bag and ordered him to the ground, successfully saving the bank from being robbed and catching and arresting a criminal.

Last night at the Community Council meeting at the precinct, Captain Jack Lewis awarded the officers the Cop of the Month honor.
