Culture Alert: Brooklyn Ballet and Mil's Trills

Looking for something to inspire? Two cultural events taking place tomorrow may do the trick.

For midday marveling, scoop up the kids and bring them to Mil's Trills Musical Lunch Hour at . On Friday, April 13 at 12:00 p.m., a lunch of locally crafted provisions and beverages will be served. The meal will be followed by original music and storytelling by Amelia Robinson and guest Jesse Neuman of Music Works on Jazz cornet.

Then, in the evening, put on your finery and take in Brooklyn Ballet's "Revolutionaries and Romantics" at the  at Long Island University.

The program celebrates renowned choreographers Michel Fokine and Isadora Duncan in a reinvention of Les Sylphides and Chopin Dances, a solo by Lynn Parkerson of Duncan's Revolutionary Etude, a pop-up, hip-hop Nutcracker called Dolls, Dolls, Dolls!, and a world premier to Stravinsky titled Spiders, Cooks and Mood Swings—a mixture of ballet and hip hop. All accompanying music will be performed live. Tickets for the Friday, April 13, at 8:00 p.m. are $25 for adults, $15 for seniors and students, and $10 for children under 12.
