Dryer Catches Fire at Altan Dry Cleaners

The fire department was called to a Cobble Hill dry cleaners on Thursday afternoon, after a dryer in the back of the shop caught fire.

At approximately 12:30 p.m. FDNY was called to Altan Cleaners, located at 191 Court St. Once there, they were able to contain the blaze within six minutes.

When asked whether any clothing had been harmed at the shop, which also handles tailoring, a staffmember told Patch that all items were fine.

"The fire was just in the dryer, so it's pretty dirty in back but everything's fine," she said.
