Police Looking for Man Wanted for Robbery near Hoyt and Butler Streets

Man stole iPad from 14-year-old boy

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating a man identified as Tyshawn Warren who is wanted for a robbery within the confines of the 76th Precinct.

According to police, the robbery took place Sunday April 14, at approximately 2:45 p.m. near Hoyt and Butler Streets in the vicinity of the Gowanus Houses.

The victim, a 14-year-old boy, said he was sitting on the stairs in the lobby of his building when two men approached him and asked to see his iPad 2. The suspects then grabbed the iPad and fled the scene in an unknown direction. 

One suspect has been identified as Tyshawn Warren, a 27-year-old black male, approximately 6 feet tall and 190 pounds (photo of suspect attached.
