Saul on Smith Street Shutters This Sunday

Another beloved Boerum Hill restaurant will close its doors this weekend—but not for the usual reasons one might expect.

As reported in The New York Times, Smith Street's longtime fine-dining institution Saul is relocating to the Brooklyn Museum to become "perhaps the borough’s answer to the Modern." As part of the agreement, owner Saul Bolton must cease serving his renowned Baked Alaska and other dishes from the Boerum Hill location.

So what will become of the original space? The future is unknown, Bolton told the Times.

“We own the building,” Mr. Bolton said. “It’s our retirement.”
