Video: Carroll Gardens Momofuku Milk Bar Sneak Peak

Patch took a quick tour before the bakery opens to the public.

With less than 24 hours to go before the to the public at 360 Smith Street near Second Place, owner Christina Tosi and her team were frantically loading in troves of the quirky bakery's signature desserts Friday afternoon in preparation for a large crowd of curious and hungry neighbors.

At approximately 1,000 square feet, the Carroll Gardens Momofuku Milk Bar is the largest of Tosi's five locations, with most of that space taken up by the patron area.

"We're not used to having this much space," said Tosi, while simultaneously checking off her list of to-dos. "We usually can't afford so much counter space, such great windows and this corner location near the courtyard. We feel very lucky to be here."

Other unique features of the store will include a "souped-up coffee service" including Stumptown Hairbender as espresso, cold brew, and drip coffee—previously only available at the Midtown location—and the return of Salty Pistachio soft serve, a customer favorite.

"We won't have the soft serve this weekend," Tosi said. "We will have ice milk, an Italian dessert, in the meantime. Then the Salty Pistachio and, after that, definitely some really kid-friendly flavors."
