Visitation's Sister Máire Releases New Video

"Ven Espíritu Santo" Video Filmed in Red Hook and at Other Area Locales

Sister Máire Close of Visitation BVM Church in Red Hook has released a new video featuring her song, "Ven Espíritu Santo," off her album "Voy A Cantar." A member of the Community of Koinonia St. John the Baptist and a native of Northern Ireland, Sr. Máire, who has no formal musical training, composed all the music on the album.

Filmed in Red Hook and at Visitation Church as well as at various surrounding sites with the Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of Liberty, the F train and the gorgeous skyline in the background, the video highlights Sr. Máire's extraordinary musical talents and features her singing in Spanish and playing guitar and the Irish tin whistle. The video also captures Sr. Máire's fun-loving nature as well as her devotion to God. She explains, "Music is a natural God-given gift in me so I use it to praise the Lord; when I pray he gives me the music and songs which I write." And it is certainly some beautiful music that she receives and produces!
