Weekly Whiz Kid: Yousif AlFayyadh

Yousif AlFayyadh, 12, moved with his family from Iraq to Brooklyn in 2009. He didn't know any English when he arrived but learned in just 8 months when he was attending the in Carroll Gardens. Way to go, Yousif!
Yousif's mother says what helped her son was his "ability to adjust very well to the culture" and his "openness to others from different cultures and religions, especially considering the fact that he was raised Muslim."
