1. The man killed in a Christmas morning home invasion in North Sea was Steven Byrnes. Byrnes, 53, of Roses Grove Road, was found dead of a gunshot wound in his home at 8:45 a.m., according to Suffolk County Police. Anyone with information on the shooting to contact the homicide squad at 631-852-6392 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.(Daily Voice)
2. The play “The Agitators” based on the true story of the lifelong friendship between Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass is holding an open audition on Sunday, Jan. 16 and Monday, Jan. 17 at 6 p.m. at Vail-Leavitt Music Hall, 18 Peconic Avenue in Riverhead. The audition is casting two African American males aged 45 to 60 for the role of Frederick Douglass.
