Child, 5, Dies After Being Found Unresponsive In LI Pool: PD
His mother found the boy in their East Moriches pool Wednesday, police say.
EAST MORICHES, NY — A boy, 5, found in an East Moriches pool Wednesday has died, police said Thursday.
According to Suffolk County Police, the child was found unresponsive in a pool by his mother at a residence on Woodcrest Drive in East Moriches.
The mother, 44, found her son, 5, in the pool unresponsive at about 4:35 p.m. CPR was performed on the boy until first responders arrived, police said. He was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead before being transported to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition, police said.
