Summer is time for outdoor fun and music. Continuing a successful collaboration, Folkie Fest hits the road, returning for the third consecutive year to Moriches Field Brewing Company (located at 1 Wilcox Ave, Center Moriches, NY) for two shows. The first event is scheduled for July 9th, and a second for August 20th. Bring your favorite chair (there is seating but never hurts to have your own as it fills up quickly).
The first event offers another incredible lineup. This year has been a banner year for stellar performers and performances at Folkie Fest – and this lineup is sure to keep up the momentum. The theme for this event is “Celebrating the music of Simon & Garfunkel and/or Joan Baez. Joining us for this event: Robert Bruey, Kathy Patterson, Leah Kay, Marty Attridge, and new to our stage, we welcome Ray Lambiase. Working on confirming another artist… stay tuned!!
The August event will celebrate train songs, as the venue has a clear view of the LIRR and celebrates the trains as they pass with a toast. There can never be too many train songs, can there? The artists for August show are Hank Stone, Grand Folk Railroad, Marian Mastrorilli, Tom Fitzgerald, Henry & Kristi Diaz, and Rob Europe.

Folkie Fest offers an ongoing concert series with local acoustic artists in the spirit of folk music as envisioned by the late Pete Seeger. We provide a listening space and support live, local, singer/songwriters sharing their original work. A 50/50 raffle is held to benefit Long Island Cares: The Harry Chapin Food Bank.

Folkie Fest is an informal organizer of small listening events highlighting local singer songwriters and supporting local 501-c-3 organizations such as the Moriches Community Center and Long Island Cares: the Harry Chapin Food Bank in the spirit of folk music as defined by Pete Seeger.
