Folkie Fest Celebrating the Music of Pete Seeger
It's been 70 years since Pete shared "Where Have All the Flowers Gone" & we figured it's a great time to revive it for the next generation.
Seems like it’s about time to celebrate this icon of folk music, as well as his song “Where Have All the Flowers Gone.” We are welcoming several new-to-us artists as well as some we haven’t heard in a while, and it’s a great lineup! Performing for your listening pleasure is Joseph Perricone, Frank Bello, Dawn Banks, Juan Rosado. JP Vest and Dustin Lowman. Each has chosen one Pete Seeger song to cover along with a set of their originals.
It’s been a while since Joseph Perricone performed for us and we are excited to have him return. He is popular with other artists as well as audiences in general. Joseph is a songwriter and musician who has toured both domestically and internationally. He has performed with folks such as Richie Havens, Pete Seeger, Curtis Mayfield, Chuck Berry, Rick Danko, Jimmy Cliff, and many others. His current band is The Other Shoe and Fishin' with Fredo. Joseph Perricone and his band The Other Shoe are currently releasing their new project titled "Good Trouble" (July 2025).
Frank Bello is a Long Island singer songwriter who, in retirement, has devoted many hours to his newly acquired hobby. You may remember Josie Bello (accompanied by Frank Bello) from past shows. As a musician, Frank plays guitar, bass, mandolin, and some keys and drums. Hand in hand with his songwriting, he enjoys recording his own music and often will play all the instruments needed on each track as well as singing. He also enjoys creating video of his songs. You can find more about his music at musicbyferengie.com. His videos are also posted on his dedicated Facebook page Ferengie Bello. What’s with ferengie you may ask? Well that’s a whole’ nother story. Frank will be accompanied by Mike Sharp, and Josie Bello. This will be quite the trio!

We are happy to announce the return to our stage of Dawn Banks. Dawn is a singer songwriter coming into her own voice. Her sweet, sexy, and soulful compositions accompanied by her sultry vocals and blues harp along with acoustic guitar take you along on her journey. She has a wide range of life experience to draw on and will draw you in. She’s been writing some new songs – we can’t wait to hear them along with some of the great ones she has shared before.
For the first time on our stage, please welcome Juan Rosado. He has been called an exciting, uplifting, original singer-songwriter. He started singing and writing his own music in the last several years, enjoying performing a mixture of musical genres blended in musicianship, creativity and tradition. Juan loves putting a smile on people's face watching them clap, dance (and there’s dancing room!) and just enjoying themselves to his music. He has played New York City, Nashville, and Long Island so far, his journey has been great and exciting.

Another new-to-us artist comes to entertain us – JP Vest. Jean-Paul Vest has a unique style, and has been writing and performing his own songs since the early 1980s. His style has been compared to Dylan and Springsteen with poetic lyrics and a rock and roll feel. His group Last Charge of the Light Horse has released 9 albums in the past 20 years.
Lastly, though not least – we are looking forward to having Dustin Lowman at our summer venue. He wowed our audience back in January of ’24. Dustin Lowman writes antisensical songs: lyric-driven tunes that deconstruct the nonsense of living. He is a self-taught singer, guitarist, harmonica player, and lyricist who patterns his style on troubadour types — Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Aimee Mann, Adrianne Lenker, Cass McCombs. Based in Brooklyn, Dustin performs regularly at venues in the borough, and has also appeared at the Poetry Foundation in Chicago, IL; The Bitter End in Manhattan, NY; and the Levitt Pavilion in Westport, CT.
