The Folkie Fest Experience!

Folkie Fest is gearing up for the 2025 season

The 2024 Folkie Fest season left big shoes to fill but wait until you see what we have in store for this year! Why spend big bucks to go to a big-name concert and only be able to see them on a screen when you can get up and personal with some established and up-and-coming artists? Definitely a better deal for your bank account!

January we are trying something new – we are hosting two shows, one at our Moriches Community Center home on January 11th (a Saturday), and one at LTV studios in Wainscott on January 26th. The theme for the MCC show will be “Singing out the Old, Ringing in the New” – artists will showcase one of their earlier works and something newer…. It’s always interesting to hear how an artist’s style matures. Then, in two weeks we head out to Wainscott for a theme of “East Meets West” – two of our Folkie Favorites will join three artists selected by LTV Studio’s Michael Clark. The LTV studio has a cabaret feel, with refreshments available.

Looking forward to February 9th for the next show. February’s theme is “Sing Me A Happy Tune” where everyone will bring at least one cheerful tune to the stage. That should help shake the winter doldrums.

March 9th brings our salute to Women’s History Month. There will be “Strong Women of Song- Standing Tall” to inspire everyone.

On April 6th, our artists will be tracing the journey from Blues to Bluegrass. This will be a wild ride, for certain. Looking forward to hear how the two styles relate in “real” time!

“It Takes Two” on May 18th features a roster of duets to close our indoor season with their harmonies. This will be a treat for your ears!

Don’t forget, there will be two shows at the Moriches Field Brewing Company over the summer where we celebrate favorite folkies. These are very popular events.
