Hampton Coffee Teams Up With Library For Center Moriches Spot

CENTER MORICHES, NY — Hampton Coffee Company, a popular coffee roaster with spots across the East End, opened its sixth café location in Center Moriches recently — its first location in the Town of Brookhaven.

The 27-year-old Southampton-based company’s newest café is located at 235 Montauk Highway, in front of the Center Moriches Free Library.

According to Hampton Coffee Company co-owner Jason Belkin, the location is a joint venture between Hampton Coffee and the library, which recruited them two years ago to help them create a coffee bar experience for patrons.

“We were so proud that we were selected by the library board to help design and operate their café,” said Belkin. “We were looking to open in Center Moriches for some time. It’s such an amazing community and we kept hearing it was missing a local coffee place.”

The new Hampton Coffee location features the same full breakfast, lunch, and dessert menu as the other Hampton Coffees, the nearest being in Westhampton Beach.

Bakery items are created fresh each morning, with gluten-free and vegan options. Coffee comes freshly roasted from the business' own roastery in Southampton. Guests can also order on the Hampton Coffee Company app and pick-up their orders right inside the front door, owners said.

What makes the new spot unique, Belkin said, is that when the library is open, the space between the library and the café opens into a lounge with a fireplace. Guests can bring in their Hampton Coffee food and drinks and enjoy the couch and worktable seating. There is also a long stool bar in the café with power outlets and free wifi for students and professionals.

“We’re so proud of how the community has come out to support our new café,” said Theresa Belkin, Hampton Coffee Company co-owner. “Everyone who works here, including me, lives within 15 minutes of the store; many can even walk here. It’s great to be able to offer quality jobs to local students.”

The new Hampton Coffee Company in Center Moriches is open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and features parking and outdoor seating, where pets will be welcomed.
