EASTPORT, NY — An employee at an Eastport smoke shop was arrested Tuesday after illegally selling cannabis products, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, Ricardo Uceda, 21, of Eastport, was arrested at Sam's Eastport Tobacco Shop, located on Montauk Highway.

In response to community complaints, Seventh Precinct investigative unit officers, along with the New York State Office of Cannabis Management and the Town of Brookhaven, executed a search warrant at the shop, and seized more than 1,470 flavored nicotine vape products, along with THC cartridges, cannabis products, money, cannabis, and materials for packaging cannabis, police said.

Uceda was arrested and charged with unlawful sale of cannabis or concentrated cannabis, unlicensed cannabis sale, sale of flavored products, and criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Uceda was released on a desk appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date, police said.
