Central Park Bike Race Giving Out Frozen Turkey Trophies This November
The annual road race announced the date of the 2016 event on Thursday.
CENTRAL PARK, NY — It may not be the Tour de France, but Central Park's annual cycling road race returns on Nov. 13.
Organizers announced the official date on Thursday morning, though the race is annually held the second weekend in November. The Century Road Club Association puts on the race each year. And yes, the winner gets a frozen turkey.
The free to enter is just $25, with proceeds going to the Century Road Club Development Foundation and Central Park Conservancy.

The race is broken down into age and ability levels. The men's 1/2/3 race — the most elite — will be nine laps around Central Park — about 54 miles — starting at 7 a.m. The men's 3/4 takes off two minutes later, the women's open two minutes after that, and so on.
The names aren't grand tour worthy, but the full list of participants can be found here.
