Central Park To Expedite Parking Lot Makeover, Report Says
A parking lot near the West 65th Street entrance to Central Park is set to become some sort of public space.

CENTRAL PARK, NY — The Central Park Conservancy — the organization responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of Central Park — announced that it will begin a project to transform one of the park's parking lots into a public space years earlier than originally anticipated, according to reports.
The conservancy is set to begin the project in 2019, the West Side Rag first reported. The organization originally planned to begin the project in 2021, but expedited the project due to a recommendation from Community Board 7 of the Upper West Side, according to the report.
The parking lot set to be transformed is locate near the restaurant Tavern on the Green near the West 65th Street entrance to the park. Specifics on the lot's transformation have not yet been decided upon, but Central Park Conservancy officials hinted that it could be turned into a green space at a recent Community Boar d7 meeting, the West Side Rag reported.
