NYC Could Get 4 Inches Of Snow This Weekend, Forecasters Say

There is a 100 percent chance of snow and sleet on Saturday, according to meteorologists.

NEW YORK CITY —A storm bringing a wintry mix of sleet and snow is racing toward the city this weekend, and another storm will develop in the area shortly after the first one subsides, as per the latest forecast.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday will see snow in the afternoon, which will turn into sleet and rain by early Sunday morning.

National Weather Service forecasters said to expect between two and four inches of snow over the weekend.

"The storm this weekend is just the next in a series of storms that is part of the pattern change that began late last week," said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Joe Lundberg.

It's too early for the exact details, but forecasters believe another storm will hit the area between Tuesday and Wednesday. More details will become available as the date gets closer. Check back with Patch for updates.
