Rain, Thunderstorms To Hit NYC This Week: See Details

Showers and thunderstorms will soak New York City at least through Thursday night, according to the latest forecast.

NEW YORK CITY — After lovely spring weather on Monday, the city is in for a wet and stormy week ahead, according to the latest forecast.

Another slow-moving storm is heading north and will cause New Yorkers to see several days of scattered rain, thunderstorms and moderate temperatures, starting Tuesday evening, National Weather Service forecasters said.

Between Tuesday evening and Thursday morning, scattered thunderstorms could drop up to an inch of rain on the city, leading to some ponding on roadways, according to forecasters.

On Thursday, the first storm will ease off and a new frontal system will move in, bringing muggy temperatures and more scattered rain, according to the National Weather Service.

"Since humidity levels will be climbing as the storm progresses, it will not feel cool for too long, which is a bit different from most rainstorms thus far this spring," AccuWeather Chief On-Air Meteorologist Bernie Rayno said.
