3 Hudson Valley Hospitals Ranked Among Nation's Best
Healthgrades named three Hudson Valley regional hospitals among the best 250 in the United States.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The Hudson Valley has three of the nation's best hospitals, according to a new ranking by the online health care information company Healthgrades.
The three earned the America's 250 Best Hospitals Award for 2022. One of them, Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, was ranked in the top 50.

To compile the ranking, researchers looked at Centers for Medicare and Medicaid data for more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide. Researchers then analyzed how each performed across 31 conditions and procedures including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, respiratory failure, sepsis and stroke.
In a release announcing the 2022 list, the company said the awards recognize the top 1, 2 and 5 percent of hospitals in the country for clinical excellence.

Brad Bowman, M.D., chief medical officer and head of data science at Healthgrades, said the company puts information about the nation's leading hospitals at the consumers' fingertips.
"These consumer-focused awards highlight the quality and outcomes data needed in order to make an informed decision, an invaluable tool to have when considering your medical care," he said.
