Bedford Hills Man Arrested For Sexual Abuse Of A Minor In Chappaqua
The 67-year-old was charged with felony third degree criminal sex act, for having sexual relations with a male less than 17, police said.
NEW CASTLE, NY — A man at the center of a lawsuit alleging a "horror story" of sexual abuse of children in Mount Kisco and Chappaqua has been arrested on criminal sex charges, according to New Castle police.
The New Castle Police Department announced on Thursday that they arrested a suspect after an investigation into a juvenile sex crime in Chappaqua.

67-year-old James Collins, Jr., of Bedford Hills, was charged with one count of a felony third degree criminal sex act, for having sexual relations with a male less than seventeen years of age.

Collins was arraigned in the Town of New Castle Justice Court on Tuesday and was remanded to the Westchester County Jail on $7,500 cash/$15,000 bond.
He is scheduled to appear in the Town of New Castle Court on Nov. 16, at 6:30 p.m.
The Town of New Castle Police Department was assisted by the Westchester County Police Department Real-Time Crime Center, the Bedford Police Department and the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.
New Castle police say that this investigation is ongoing and further charges may be filed in the future.
A lawsuit filed in 2020 in Westchester County Court names James Collins, plus the village of Mount Kisco, Camp Iroquois, the Boys & Girls club of Northern Westchester, Horace Greeley High School and the Chappaqua Central School District as co-defendants.
"What transpired with dozens of children in the 1980s and 1990s throughout the Town of Mt. Kisco, at the hands of Collins, is something out of a horror story," the suit said.
