Christmas, Hanukkah Events In Chappaqua/Mt. Kisco: Parades, Lightings
There are several events scheduled in the coming weeks in the Chappaqua/Mount Kisco area to get into the holiday spirit.
CHAPPAQUA/MOUNT KISCO, NY — There is no shortage of things to do in Chappaqua/Mount Kisco to get the winter holiday season off to a rollicking good start.
Christmas and Hanukkah, the eight-day Jewish festival of lights, intersect this year, with Hanukkah running Dec. 18-26. Christmas, of course, is on Dec. 25, but you don’t have to wait to start taking in all the sights and sounds of the holidays.

- Dec. 2: Mount Kisco Holiday Tree Lighting, Village Hall Green, 6 p.m.
- Dec. 4: Chappaqua Holiday Stroll/Tree Lighting, 2 p.m.-6 p.m.
- Dec. 4: Tree Lighting, New Castle Historical Society of Chappaqua, events start at 4 p.m.
- Dec. 20: Chappaqua Chanukah Celebration/Menorah Lighting, outdoor program begins at 5:30 p.m.
Christmas parades — often complete with Santa Claus, festively decorated floats and marching bands — are a holiday tradition, both nationally and locally.
Several big parades are taking place nationally this year, including the Mayor’s Annual Christmas Parade in Baltimore City, Maryland; and the Christmas Boat Parade in Newport Beach, California.

Parades in and around Chappaqua/Mount Kisco may not be able to match those in size, but the heart behind them is just as big. Parades to catch here at home include:
- Nov. 27: Frosty Day in Armonk (parade/lighting ceremony re-scheduled to Dec. 3, 4 p.m.)
- Dec 3: Peppermint Parade in Katonah, 10:30 a.m.
- Dec. 17: New Castle Holiday Parade, 4:30 p.m.

- Dec. 3: Holiday Craft Fair/Breakfast with Santa/Tree Sale, First Congregational Church of Chappaqua, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- Dec. 10: Mount Kisco's Annual Combined Holiday Party, 9:30 a.m. - 11:15 a.m., fire truck ride with Santa starts at Memorial Pool Parking Lot, Leonard Park and ends at American Legion.
- Dec. 10: Winter Wonderland, Chappaqua Performing Arts Center, 11 a.m.
- Dec. 11/17: Christmas Bazaar, First Congregational Church of Chappaqua, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- Dec. 16: The Polar Express Movie Screening, Hotel MTK, 6:30 p.m.
- Dec. 17: Breakfast with Santa, New Castle Community Center, 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
- Dec. 17: Shop With Frosty & Friends, Main St., Mount Kisco, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
- Dec. 18: Holiday Bonfire/Magic Show, Recreation Field, Chappaqua, 4:45 p.m.
