Elderly Man Who Fell 20 Feet Down Steep Hill In Mount Kisco Rescued
Due to the steep incline and the unstable ground, firefighters used a rope rescue system to safely allow rescuers to access to the victim.

MOUNT KISCO, NY — A misstep led to a dramatic rescue of a man who landed in a precarious position.
On Saturday, the Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department, the Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Westchester EMS were dispatched on a rescue assignment for an elderly man who fell down a steep hill behind Mavis Tire on N. Bedford Road.
The man had fallen from the top of the steep hill and ended up approximately 20 feet down, resting against two trees, according to fire officials.

Due to the steep incline and the unstable ground, firefighters quickly deployed a rope rescue system to safely allow rescuers to have access to the victim and to be able to place the victim on a backboard and lower him safely down to stable ground.
The Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department and Westchester County Police Department WCPD SOD worked together to safely get the patient to safety.

The patient was turned over to EMS and taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department noted that "this event shows the benefit of the different emergency services agencies that cover Mount Kisco working together and resulting in a positive outcome."
