Horace Greeley High School Alumnus On Food Network's Chopped
Tyler Houston, class of '07 at Horace Greeley, will appear in the "Deli Duel" challenge episode of the show at 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
CHAPPAQUA, NY — A Horace Greeley grad turned Chicago celebrity chef will draw his kitchen knife on a special episode of the popular Food Network reality show "Chopped."
Tyler Houston, a Chappaqua alum, who is now the Chef de Cuisine at Dusek's Tavern Chicago at Thalia Hall, will be competing in tonight's Deli Duel challenge, airing at 9 p.m.
Four delicatessen pros will take over the Chopped Kitchen to prove that sandwiches are just the start of their culinary expertise, according to the show's producers. A platter with a classic combo and a fruit with a cult following are two of the "top secret" ingredients in the appetizer basket. The chefs get a sweet soda and a stuffed potato to work with in round two and a clever cold treat must be combined with a salty-sour condiment in the dessert round.
