MOUNT KISCO, NY — A performance as big as the history of western civilization is being readied for an intimate venue.

The Westchester Oratorio Society, with Benjamin Niemczyk as artistic director, begins its 2022-2023 Season, its 25th, with an all-Vivaldi performance entitled, "Glorious Vivaldi" on Saturday, Nov. 19. The group will be accompanied by professional soloists and a Baroque ensemble. The program includes Vivaldi’s Dixit Dominus RV595, Magnificat RV610 and Gloria RV589.

For Niemczyk, who is beginning his 16th year as artistic director, the group’s 25th season is an exciting opportunity to leave behind the difficulties of the past few years and return to sharing beautiful music with local audiences. He noted that the chorus helped select the all-Vivaldi program through a preseason survey and praised how they have worked diligently to ensure a "historically informed" performance.
