Smoky Haze Triggers Early Dismissals At Chappaqua Schools

Conditions are starting to impact some classrooms in the district. All indoor and outdoor after school activities are canceled.

CHAPPAQUA, NY — Chappaqua Central School District schools will send students home early in response to the air quality resulting from forest fires in Quebec.

School officials said the conditions are starting to impact some classrooms in the district. Administrators elected to dismissing students early from school today and canceling all indoor and outdoor after school activities.

  • Middle schools in the district will release students at 2 p.m.
  • Horace Greeley High School will have a 2:10 p.m. dismissal
  • Elementary Schools will dismiss students at 2:50 p.m.

The Board of Education meeting scheduled for this evening will proceed as scheduled and is not affected by the decision.
